There are several ways you can get involved with Living Potential
Although Living Potential receives social care funding to deliver direct support to individuals, we rely on charitable donations to ensure our service has the resources we need. Horticulture and animal care equipment, arts and crafts materials, musical instruments, transport costs such as vehicles to ensure activities can be accessed by all, up-to-date IT and sensory equipment to assist verbal communication, understanding and sensory needs, life-skills equipment such as for cooking and domestic tasks.
"Your generosity will make a huge impact on the people and places we support."
Your donations could also help us to develop promotional literature and web-based information to ensure we can reach as many people as possible who might benefit from nature-based interventions. We hope to expad to be able to hold open days, developent training and have outreach programs shortly.
"Some examples of how donations have been spent include purchasing a new polytunnel, training for staff, printing leaflets, buying T-shirts and fleeces to make us feel a team, art and crafts materials and equipment for the kitchen."
Your help could enable Living Potential to open a world of therapeutic outdoor learning activities for all ages and abilities and would help to create the open community farm we envisage. Are you thinking of delivering any events that you would be sponsored for? If so contact us to get your unique sponsorship form and join us in raising money for this fantastic farm. If you would like to make an online donation, please donate directly to our bank account:

Here is how your everyday donations can help to make big difference to the adults and young people we support: £10 might pay for seeds, bushes or trees in our allotment or equipment for the kitchen and art room. £20 will help pay towards supporting the allotment through materials and equipment such as gloves, hoses, fruit cages £50 will help fund the current small animal housing, feed costs and fencing. £100 will enable us to provide new sensory and IT equipment for the adults and young people we support. £500 will assist us in purchasing a new vehicle to get people to the activities we provide.
With the land in which we operate up for sale, as tenants, we have no certainty. We are embarking on our biggest challenge ever since we began in 2016. We urgently need your help to ensure Living Potential can continue to change lives. We need to raise £2m to secure a farm for the future so we can be here tomorrow for those who need us. Every week we support over 135 beneficiaries to grow in confidence, build lasting friendships and encourage independence. Help us secure the farm so we can continue to provide this crucial support. Living Potential changes lives by offering a sanctuary where people and nature thrive together. We support people with disabilities and autism, dementia and mental health challenges to engage in meaningful work giving people a real sense of value and purpose. In the UK, 1 in 4 people are experiencing mental health challenges and 16 million people are living with disabilities. The need for our work has never been greater. We urgently need your help. Living Potential is a safe haven for so many families and we transform lives right across Yorkshire. We reduce isolation, we instil confidence, and we provide hope. Help us secure a Farm for the Future so we can be here tomorrow for those who need us.
We need to secure the farm to be able to make our future plans a reality and continue to support our members.

If you don’t have a mental health challenge or any support needs yourself, but would like to help out in the therapeutic gardens or at the farm, you could support our staff team and our beneficiaries, and learn about horticulture and/or animal care. Our Support Volunteers come to join our staff and beneficiaries in the day’s activities. Support Volunteers either support individuals, or the group as a whole, to carry out tasks and activities. All have the training suitable for the role. To enquire about becoming a Support Volunteer please contact us through our contacts page or at the bottom section of the page.
If you’d like to get involved with Living Potential, learn all about horticulture from our team, meet new people, and enjoy a healthy, active day working outside in a beautiful setting, then we offer Community Volunteering days in the Community Gardens. These are currently on Thursdays and the first Saturday of the month. Volunteering outdoors is widely recognised as being great for wellbeing, and a preventative measure against the development of mental health problems. If you have a developing mental health problem you are trying to address by volunteering with us, do please discuss with our team whether our core Therapeutic Gardening programme or Community Volunteering is more appropriate for your individual needs. To enquire about Community Volunteering please contact us through our contacts page or at the bottom section of the page.
Please get in touch if you would like to offer Corporate Volunteering or fundraising for us.
